Every now and then I add an extra page. This page was created in May 2009 in recognition of a new phase of our life .. as a Master Franchisor with the Jim's Cleaning Group, a division of the Jim's Group..

We are the Master Franchisors for Jim's Car Cleaning (Western Australia) .. which means that we get to sell Franchises in the whole state. franchisor profile.

It also means that I get to go out and clean cars from time to time .. Robyn is my support person who doesn't have to clean cars.

Jim's Group
Jim Penman is Jim from the Jim's Group. Having started life as Jim's Mowing, has been operating for 25years and now has over 3000 Franchises in Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the UK. The group currently carries out 32 different activities within Australia. One of the most significant things about the Group is that the Jim's logo has a staggering 95% recognition factor. Which makes it one of the most loved and trusted brands in the country.

Jim's Cleaning Group is one of the 32 divisions [and growing] and one of the more successful. Started by Haydar Hussein and currently  numbering about 420 Franchisees the cleaning group has six different franchising opportunities, general cleaning, carpet cleaning, high pressure cleaning, window cleaning, blinds cleaning, and car cleaning.

September 2011:  Adam has started, Jim's Car Cleaning [Midland] August 2011: The Cleaning Group Focus Day was held in Melbourne, where I had the opportunity to catch up with the new Car Cleaning Franchisors. The business just continues to grow. July 2011:  Adam attended training at HO this month, in anticipation of starting his franchise in the next couple of months. May 2011: It was a big month in Perth with "4 in 4 More" - a mini conference for Franchisors, 4 topics in 4 hours. The Franchise Expo and immediately after that the Jim's Group Information Night. April 2011: I returned to National Office for the first time in 2 years, to attend a Franchisor Development Course, entitled "Inch by Inch" , based on the inspirational speech made by Al Pacino in the movie On Any Sunday. Robyn and I checked in the night before it started and stayed till Friday evening. It was great to spend time with fellow Franchisors. November 2010:  Started 2 new Franchisees this month, which takes us up to 5 working Franchisees, including myself. August 2010: Attended the National conference held in NSW. May 2010: Lea has headed off to Melbourne for her Franchisee Training. May 2010: Attended the Perth Franchise Expo with Franchisors from 12 of the 26 current divisions and met some nice folks who seem keen on the idea of becoming a Jim.
April 2010: Lea has surprised us all by declaring she wants to join me as a Jim. She will be on the road this month. And then there's 3. March 2010: Franchisee #1 sold his business to Jim #2 and returned to the corporate sector. Back to two of us. February 2010: The Cleaning Group AGM was held in Sydney, which Robyn and I went to. December 2009: Jim Number 2 hit the streets this month .. which fixes the problem of too much work for two of us to complete. August 2009: My 1st Franchisee started this month. We are off and running! June 2009: After 2 weeks of radio advertising - nothing, no calls. We reinvented the advert and then found out that the original had never actually been to air. A Radio Cluster. So we start again, with the new and improved advert. June 2009:  Allan goes into the studio to pre-record a number of one on one interviews to be aired as part of a 3 month radio campaign, aimed at prospective Franchisees who currently work away from home.

May 2009: We set up our shingle at the Franchise Expo [not to be confused with Sexpo in the hall next door]. Haydar and Janan flew over from Melbourne for the event and Matt C [general cleaning] Nav R [carpet cleaning] and David Z [general cleaning] also joined in.
